FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does the Teric compare to other Shearwater computers ?
You can view a full comparison chart to see how the Teric stacks up.
Comparison Chart
Can I replace the bezel on my Teric ?
No. Replacing the bezel would be prohibitively expensive as the blue sapphire glass is permanently bonded to the bezel and the AMOLED screen. If you're looking for ways to personalize your Teric, you can purchase coloured watch straps.
What is Shearwater's warranty policy ?
Shearwater offers a worldwide 2-year warranty on all products. The warranty lives with the unit, not with the original purchaser. This means that whether you buy your unit from our dealer network or second-hand, the warranty will still be effective.
Shearwater will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace defective products covered under warranty.
Unauthorized repairs, accidental damage, or negligence are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty covers included accessories such as chargers and straps.
Is the Teric screen scratch proof ?
The Teric screen is made of sapphire crystal which is one of the most scratch resistant material that can reasonably be used as a watch window. However, sharp impacts can still result in scratches. In particular, chrome plating has very high hardness and may scratch the Teric window. If you are concerned with scratching the Teric window, we suggest using a screen protector. Exceptional impacts may still damage the window even with a protector fitted. Screen protectors are currently sold by several third-party vendors that fit the Teric.
How often does the rechargeable battery in the Teric need to be replaced ?
The typical battery life is 5 years.

SWIFT TRANSMITTER

Next generation smart air integration transmitter. The Swift allows divers to carry multiple transmitters reliably. The collision avoidance protocol allows for multiple transmitters to be used at the same time with a lower likelihood of dropped communications. The Swift is designed and built in Canada for demanding divers of all proficiency levels.

User replaceable CR2 battery

Collision avoidance for other transmitters

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is the Swift O2 Compatible ?
Swift transmitters are built with O2 compatible materials; however, the Swift is not shipped “O2 clean”.
What is the battery life ?
The Swift’s battery life is approximately 300 dive hours or 5 years when in storage. It is important to ensure that the regulator the Swift is mounted on is purged when not in use. The Swift will continue to transmit gas pressure if it is pressurized above 3.5 bar (50 psi).
How is the Swift different from Legacy Shearwater transmitters ?
The Swift has many improvements over legacy Shearwater transmitters:
  • The active interference avoidance system allows multiple transmitters to work side-by-side without signal interference. The maximum recommended number of legacy transmitters was two (one grey, one yellow).
  • The indicator LED provides quick diagnostic information.
  • The Swift is smaller than legacy Shearwater transmitters.
  • The Swift has a robust metal base that allows for hand installation without the need for special tools or wrenches.
  • The Swift’s double O-ring design reduces the chance of a flood after a battery change.
  • The Swift is unlikely to be mistaken for a tank valve knob.
  • The Swift was designed and built in British Columbia, Canada.
Will the Shift work with existing Shearwater Computers ?
The Swift works with all pre-existing Shearwater AI computers, and likely to work with computers from other brands that use MH8A marked transmitters. However, operation with dive computers from other brands cannot be guaranteed.
Can I use the Swift to track buddies', students' remaining tank pressure ?
While the Swift can be used this way, it was not designed for tracking your buddies’ gas pressure. The range is 1m (3ft), so unless you are diving quite close together, you should expect to lose comms regularly.
