The 7kg Dolphin Tech BCD Weight Pocket provides a secure place on a technical BCD for up to 7 kg of weight. Once mounted, it will not interfere with any movement while diving and the simple, fail-safe quick release mechanism works every time.
- Outer pouch material: Heavy duty 1680D nylon
- Inner pouch material: 420D nylon
- Weight capacity: 7 kg (15.4 lb) per pocket
- 17 cm wide by 23 cm high
There are three webbing loops on the reverse side and arranged in a way that when the harness webbing is threaded through, the weight pocket will be stable and not flop around.
Each weight pocket contains an inner pouch. It conveniently keeps all solid or soft weights together as a single unit for the ease of loading and removing after a dive through the top zip.
The bottom opening is held closed by a sturdy quick-release buckle and Velcro. Only use this in an emergency when weights need to be jettisoned quickly. To do so, you need to firstly check if there is anyone below you so the dropped weight will not injure others. Squeeze open the quick release buckle and hold on the the female buckle to use as a handle. Pull downward to separate the pocket flap, which is being held by Velcro.
Backplates, Wings and Harnesses:
A backplate and wing BC configuration generally come in two pieces – the backplate (stainless or aluminium) and the wing. Sometimes the harness can also be a separate piece.
The whole purpose of moving to a diving BC like this is to make it easy to adapt to different types of diving such as twin set and/or single cylinder diving. The system is fundamentally simple and easy to use.
The wing provides the lift, the backplate and harness secure everything together as well as to the cylinder and to you. Your harness can be a one piece harness or one with quick release buckles.
Wings are available in many different lift capacities that are generally described in pounds (lbs of lift)
Lastly the backplates are available in stainless steel or aluminium. Choosing between the two is all about weighting. A stainless back plate weighs in at around 2.2kgs more than its aluminium counterpart.
We carry a large variety of Backplates, Wings and Harnesses.
