Is CROATIA for me?
Of Course it is! This trip is for divers of all levels as well as non-divers!
The tour has been customised for us to incorporate the best sites Croatia has to offer. Each night the boat will dock at a different port, allowing us to get off and enjoy the night life of the islands, and each day divers will be able to dive a different dive site. The main idea is to offer a combination of scuba diving, swimming and sightseeing on different diving locations and places along Adriatic coast. This is what makes this trip both attractive and interesting for divers and non divers!
It is recommended that you are an Advanced Diver with a Deep speciality in order to fully enjoy all the dives. Some dives may be slightly deeper than the average Open Water Course allows.
Nitrox is not required as all of the dives are done on air.
However should you be one of the avid Nitrox Divers, it can be arranged at an additional cost.
Surprisingly Croatia offers divers an unreal amount of scuba dives to take part in, with it’s many islands strewn out into the Adriatic. In total, you’ll find around 1000 of these islands in Croatia, all adorned with reefs, underwater caverns, pillars and canyons. There are plenty of wrecks to see, too. Around the island of Vis, the largest of the islands, you can dive among many WWI and WWII shipwrecks, all fallen in battle. There’s a B-17 bomber to see in addition to the older ships. Head to the caves here, to, a great dive where sunlight filters in, making for ethereal seascapes.
WHERE ARE WE DIVING?
In 2019, Divetek will embark on its first scuba diving tour to Croatia. The trip has been set up differently to any of our previous trips, as it will incorporate not only diving, but also sight seeing adventures. What better to way to explore to magic that is Croatia then from the land and the Sea.
Using Murter island as a starting point, interesting diving sites already start as close as a 5-10 min boat trip to the small island of Visovac which is safe to dive with winds coming from any direction which usually prevent a lot of sites to be dived at because of the lack of a safe anchor point.
The furthest diving spots, still in a sensible range for a day trip from Murter, can be found at the islands of Kornat, Žut, Piškera, Kaprije, Žirje. If you want to benefit of the usually richer underwater life inside the Kornati National Park, e.g. when diving at Kornat island, you need to use a diving center which has the special permission to organize dives there.
If you like wrecks there also are some interesting ones near to Murter. Francesca di Rimini is one of the most famous wrecks in the Adriatic. A bit easier to dive, lying only a few meters below the surface, is a scenic coal freighter wreck near Babuljaš island.
